Beschaulichkeit. Vor 1924.
Bronze with black green patina.
Braun 121. With the monogram in ligature on the sole of the left foot, as well as with the foundry mark "H. Noack Berlin". Height: 31.5 cm (12.4 in).
Hermann Braun was able to reconstruct the date "before 1924" on basis of the fact that a nephew of Fritz Klimsch acquired a copy of "Beschaulichkeit" in 1924 (cf. Hermann Braun, Fritz Klimsch. Eine Dokumentation, Cologne 1991, p. 359). [AW].
• Fritz Klimsch was among the most famous modern sculptors of the Weimar Republic
• Lyrical-atmospheric work emanating a meditative calm
• The influence of Aristide Maillol and Wilhelm Lehmbruck shows in his particularly successful female nudes.
