Rolf Cavael
1898 - 1979
48/Ja 191. 1948.
Oil on fibreboard.
Monogrammed in the lower right corner. Dated by hand on the reverse and inscribed with the work number “191”. 40 x 64 cm (15.7 x 25.1 in).
[AR].

PROVENANCE: Private collection, San Francisco
Collection, Luxembourg.

LITERATURE: Horst Keller, Cavael, Munich 1984, CR no. 1948/191.

In good condition. A few small brown and colored spots on the paint surface, likely caused in part in the studio. A few tiny chips of paint along the edges of the painting, as well as approximately 1–2 tiny surface glazes with some loss of color in the image, barely noticeable in the overall composition. The monogram in the “C” also shows minimal loss of color. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the aid of a UV light source, and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
For information concerning the condition, please view the high resolution image / backside image.
