Signed and dated in the lower left corner. Titled and inscribed several times on the reverse of the stretcher, as well as signed, dated, titled, and inscribed “Ber-Wilmersdorf Homburgerstr. 4” on a label. 65 x 95 cm (25.5 x 37.4 in). [AW].

• The works from the 1920s in the New Objectivity style mark the peak of Ernst Fritsch's artistic career.
• In 1921, Fritsch joined the “November Group,” in 1925 he was represented at the Munich New Secession exhibition, and in 1927 he received the “Rome Prize” from the Prussian Academy of Arts.
• In family ownership for almost 50 years
