Ohne Titel. 1992.
Egg-Oil on burlap.
Signed and dated on the reverse of the canvas. 100.5 x 130.5 cm (39.5 x 51.3 in). [AW].

• A striking work with a vibrant presence emphasized by the appealing rough canvas.
• Part of the “Gong” series from the 1990s, which centres on a slightly tilted square.
• Quinte is considered one of the most successful German artists of Op(tical) Art.
• In his paintings, he visualises phenomena that are normally invisible to the human eye.
• In 1977, he participated in documenta VI in Kassel
.

PROVENANCE: Galerie Michael Rasche, Freiburg im Breisgau.
Private collection, Baden-Württemberg (acquired from the above in 1994).

In good condition. The canvas has lost a little tension in the outer corners. Some rubbing and faint staining in the lower part of the image. There is a small tear in the paint layer in the center of the canvas and a tiny spot of paint.
The condition report was compiled in daylight with a UV light source and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
backside image.
