Signed and numbered "IX" and "6." by a hand other than that of the artist. From an edition of 3 known copies. On smooth wove paper. 43.5 x 32.5 cm (17.1 x 12.7 in). Sheet: 54,8 x 44,5 cm (21,5 x 17,5 in).

• One of only three known copies.
• Another copy is in the collection of the Städel Museum in Frankfurt am Main.
• Otto Mueller portrays Maschka Mayerhöfer, whom he married in 1905 in Schönfeld, near Dresden, and her nephew Eugen, who was living with them after the death of his mother
.

PROVENANCE: Eugen Buchthal, Berlin (until 1931).
Schlesisches Museum der Bildenden Künste, Breslau (purchased from the above, with the stamp on the reverse, Lugt 5447, and the inventory number 24198).
Private collection, Berlin (in second generation).

LITERATURE: Florian Karsch, Otto Mueller. Das graphische Gesamtwerk, Berlin 1974, cat. rais. no. 84 I (illustrated).

In good condition. The print is slightly faded and with mount staining. With creases and workshop marks in the edges of the image, overall slightly foxed.
