• As one of the most diverse and experimental artists, Buthe's work defies any genre norms.
• With his boundary-breaking approach, he is considered one of the most important innovators of the 1970s and 1980s.
• Buthe was represented at documenta four times between 1972 and 1992.
• From 1983 onwards, he taught as a professor at the Düsseldorf Art Academy alongside greats such as Joseph Beuys.
The work will be included into the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of Michael Buthe's work that is currently compiled by Juerg Judin and Dr. Pay Matthis Karstens, Berlin.

In good condition. Edges with isolated tears, upper left corner with a small round paper loss. Upper pigment layer in the upper left corner and in the upper center partly loosened and with isolated material losses.
