Grabrelief (Ruht im Frieden seiner Hände). 1935- 1936.
Bronze with a golden brwon patina.
Inscribed “Kollwitz” in capitals on the lower edge and with the foundry mark “H. Noack Berlin”. 34.8 x 31.6 x 8.5 cm (13.7 x 12.4 x 3.3 in).
Posthumously cast by art foundry Noack, Berlin. [SM].

Dr. Annette Seeler, author of the catalogue raisonné of sculptures, confirmed after a personal inspection of the cast that, in her opinion, it is an authorized posthumous reproduction based on model IV.A, which the art foundry Hermann Noack in Berlin used from the winter of 1958/59 onwards.

PROVENANCE: Private collection Southern Germany (inherited in 2011).

LITERATURE: Dr. Annette Seeler, Käthe Kollwitz - Die Plastik, catalogue raisonné, Cologne 2016, no. 30.

In good condition. With very few small rubbed spots.
