• Since his participation in documenta I (1955), Winter had been considered one of the leading representatives of German Informalism and abstract post-war modernism.
• The artist's works were shown in two exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, New York in the 1950s

In good condition. With minor superficial rubbing and a small, unobtrusive bump and paper damage in bottom center. An unobtrusive handling mark in upper right, probably from the making, as well as with other traces from the making.
