Oil and gouache.
Signed and dated in the right side. Titled in the upper center. Inscribed with several numbers and "Geburtstagsvariation II" on the reverse. On wove paper. 29.3 x 20.8 cm (11.5 x 8.1 in), the full sheet.
The series "Café Deutschland" was made between 1977 and 1982 and put focus on the question of Germany's separation during the Cold War. [AW].

PROVENANCE: Galerie Andy Jllien, Zürich (with the gallery's label on the reverse).
Corporate Collection Ahlers AG, Herford (acquired from the above in 2001).

In good condition, colors in fine impression. The paper is slightly wavy due to the printing technique. The upper right edge of the sheet is minimally scuffed.
