Elsa Paulsen. 1922.
Bronze with dark brown patina.
With name, number and foundry stamp "W. Füssel Berlin". From an edition of 7 copies. Height: 23.7 cm (9.3 in).
Cast by art foundry Wilhelm Füssel, Berlin (with foundry stamp), presumably after 1945. [JS].
• William Wauer is one of the few expressionist sculptors.
• Very rare. From an edition of only 7 casts.
• The angular transition from the base to the neck shows Wauer's characteristic formal potential, as in his famous portrait head of the art dealer "Herwarth Walden" (1917)
.

PROVENANCE: Private collection Lower Saxony.
