• Fire gouache with a powerful expression.
• In Piene's "Fire Pictures", fire became became an independent creative element as early as in the mid 1960s.
• In his œuvre, fire attained an iconographic status and testifies to Piene's rank as one of the greatest German post-war avant-gardists.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Southern Germany.
Good overall impression. With mount staining. With minimal isolated traces of rubbing, mainly visible in sided light.
