Pencil and Colored crayon drawing.
Heiderich 1955. Lower right monogrammed "M". Verso with the numbered estate stamp "123" (Lugt 1775b) and numbered "G. K. 4475" and with a customs stamp, presumably titled, dated and numbered by Elisabeth Erdmann-Macke. On off-white wove paper. 20.3 x 14.7 cm (7.9 x 5.7 in), the full sheet.
• This is one of the few sheets from the series "Abstrakten Formen" available on the auction market.
• Other motifs from this unique 1913 series are in the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich and the Kunsthaus Zürich
• August Macke was one of the most important German Expressionists and part of the "Blauer Reiter"

In good condition. Paper slightly discolored, some color fields slightly faded. Upper margin slightly wavy and with oil dmounting remains that push through to recto. Top and bottom margin with isolated, skillfully mended blemishes and splits. Some unobtrusive smoothed creases in upper part.
