• Subtly composed still life in bright and high-contrast colors.
• One of Schmidt-Rottluff's early flower watercolors that marked the beginning of his examination of the subject which lasted up until an old age

The watercolor is documented in the archive of the Karl and Emy Schmidt-Rottluff Foundation, Berlin.

PROVENANCE: Galerie Schweinsteiger, Munich.
Hermann Gerlinger Collection, Würzburg (acquired from the above on February 22, 1986, with the collector's stamp, Lugt 6032).

In good condition. Edges slightly rubbed in places, a few spots with small color- and paper losses. Left and right margin with faint isolated splits that were skillfully rebacked on the reverse. Left corners with tiny pinholes, presumably from the making.
