With the signature incised on the plinth, with the artist's name, the date, number and the name of the publisher on the stand. From an edition of 36 copies. 60 cm (23.6 in).

• In 1960, Alex Katz portrayed his wife Ada in six different poses in a black dress in the painting “The Black Dress” (Museum Brandhorst, Munich).
• The 2018 edition “Black Dress Cut-outs” is a refinement of this iconic motif.
• Some of the artist's large-format metal cut-outs can be found in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum, New York, and the National Portrait Gallery, London.
• Most recently, Alex Katz was honored with major solo exhibitions at, among others, the Museum of Modern Art, New York (2024) and the Guggenheim Museum, New York (2022/23)
