Jean Dubuffet
1901 - 1985
Sans titre. 1977.
Felt-tip pen drawing on paper, laid on a backing board.
Ca. 12.5 x 21.2 cm (4.9 x 8.3 in), the full sheet.
With a copy of a letter from the artist (Paris, June 27, 1977) that originally had the drawing on it, on the back of the frame. [AR].

PROVENANCE: Anneliese and Gottfried Dierdorf, Lörrach (obtained directly from the artist along with a letter).
In the family’s possession ever since.

In good condition. The drawings are irregularly trimmed at the bottom edge due to their separation from the letter. There is a vertical crease in the center, likely caused by the folding of the letter. The backing board has superficial stains and pencil annotations, though these are not visible when the piece is framed.
For information concerning the condition, please view the high resolution image / backside image.
