• An icon of postwar modernism: With her monochromatic and monumental wooden assemblages, Louise Nevelson shaped the movements of “Junk Art” and “Geometric Abstraction.”
• 1943: “Exhibition by 31 Women” at Peggy Guggenheim’s “Art of This Century” gallery, alongside Frida Kahlo, Meret Oppenheim, Dorothea Tanning, and others.
• In 1962, Nevelson exhibited at the American Pavilion of the 31st Venice Biennale.
• The artist’s works are held in renowned museums worldwide, including the Centre Pompidou, Paris; the Tate Modern, London; the Museum Ludwig, Cologne; the Whitney Museum of American Art; and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
