• Depicted is the wife of Dr. Benno Klein—a friend and collector of Felixmüller.
• 1947, two years after the end of the war, this portrait was created during a phase of artistic reorientation.
PROVENANCE: Klein Collection (directly from the artist, in the family’s possession ever since).
Private collection, Berlin (since 2016, inherited from the above).

In good condition. The edges show some minor wear, particularly in the corners. The lower right corner has a small tear in the canvas. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the aid of a UV light source, and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
