Günter Fruhtrunk
1923 - 1982
Studie zu diag. Progress. 1963.
Acrylic on panel, mounted on hardboard.
Dated, titled, and inscribed on the reverse, with a directional arrow and a dedication. 28.5 x 28 cm (11.2 x 11 in).
[MH].
• The work follows strictly rational principles of order and reflects Fruhtrunk’s intensive engagement with the psychology of perception, rhythm, and serial variation.
• A work characteristic of the artist’s abstract-geometric visual language.
• Pop culture icon: In 1970, Günter Fruhtrunk created the iconic design of the Aldi Nord plastic shopping bag.

The authenticity of the work has been confirmed by Walter Storms. We are grateful for his kind support.

PROVENANCE: Private collection, Baden-Württemberg (since 2025, inherited).

In good condition. With barely noticeable, hairline-thin craquelure. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the aid of a UV light source, and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
