Selbstbildnis. 1924.
Chalk lithograph.
Signed and with an illegible inscription. Probably one of the signed individual prints on Japan paper, alongside 25 prints on this type of paper for the annual edition published as a portfolio by the “Kreis graphischer Künstler und Sammler”, Leipzig 1924. On Japan paper. 29 x 22.5 cm (11.4 x 8.8 in). Sheet ca. 51,5 x 38,5 cm (20,2 x 15,1 in).
Wih a stamp on the reverse ("MBJ" in capital letters in a circle). [AR].

PROVENANCE: Private collection, southern Germany.

LITERATURE: Alexandra von dem Knesebeck, Käthe Kollwitz. Werkverzeichnis der Graphik, vol. 2, 1914-1942, Bern 2002, CR no. 209 b (of e).

In good condition. The paper is slightly wavy and has minimal mount staining. Very few faint crease marks on the edges of the sheet, the right edge of the sheet is minimally browned. The edges of the sheet are generally slightly irregular, however, this is likely due to the production of the paper.
For information concerning the condition, please view the high resolution image / backside image.
