• Christian Rohlfs interprets classical nude painting in a dynamic style using broad brushstrokes.
• In 1901, Karl Ernst Osthaus invited him to Hagen, where he worked in the studios of the newly founded Hagen Museum and began to develop his expressionist style.
• In 1907, Rohlfs became a member of the Sonderbund westdeutscher Kunstfreunde und Künstler (Association of West German Art Lovers and Artists).
