Gercken 29 I (of II). Dube H 60 I. One of just 2 known copies from the original first printing state showing three pictures in teh background. On slightly yellowish laid paper. 15 x 10.6 cm (5.9 x 4.1 in). Sheet: 21 x 16,3 cm (8,2 x 6,4 in).
The depicted room presumably is the Kirchner's student room on Ostbahnstraße 15 in Dresden, where the artist lived in 1905/06 (cf. Georg Reinhardt, 1977/78, mentioned in: Gercken, Catalogue Raisonné of Prints, Bern 2015, cat. no. 29).
• One of just two known copies from the original first printing state.
• Two of the six copies from the second printing, which show only two pictures in the background, are in museum ownership: the Brücke-Museum Berlin and the Buchheim Museum, Bernried.
• Significant year of creation: Kirchner, Heckel, Schmidt-Rottluff, and Bleyl founded the artist group "Brücke" in 1905.
