• Max Peiffer-Watenphul's idyllic Italian landscapes are an expression of a mindset that draws on the ideals of beauty from bygone eras.
• As a student at the Bauhaus in 1919, Peiffer Watenphul attended the class of Johannes Itten and became friends with Oskar Schlemmer, Wassily Kandinsky, and Josef Albers.
• In 2023, the Casa di Goethe in Rome dedicated an exhibition to Peiffer Watenphul .
