Oil on panel.
Monogrammed, with artist's signet and date "1924 IV". 41 x 40.2 cm (16.1 x 15.8 in). Türflügel: 56 x 55 cm ( x 21,6 in).
One of a total of 6 small doors that were part of a chest of drawers. Andreas Jawlensky, son of Alexej von Jawlensky, made numerous furniture paintings of this kind. [KP].

Accompanied by a correpondence between Andreas Jawlensky and the deceased brother in law of the consignor from 1958, in which the artist confirms this work's authenticity (in copy).

PROVENANCE: Ben Soliman, Wiesbaden.
Estate Dr. Anton Brühl, Wiesbaden (acquired in 1930 from previously mentioned as integrated piece of furniture for the salon of his house).

In good condition. Minimally rubbed in places and browned as well as with few small brownish spots. With subtle cracks to layer of paint. Left margin with small scuffmark, there with small color loss.
