Fritz Baumgartner

Fritz Baumgartner counts among the representatives of a new figurative painting. A style that is coined by its coloring is particularly characteristic works by the artist. The subjects seem to emerge in form of colorful structures from the dark foil of the background, thus they attain a unique spatial effect. The human figure is Fritz Baumgartner's preferred motif. The graphic art of Fritz Baumgartner is of no lesser importance, in which the artist modeled the figures from filigree, often monochrome meshes of lines. Additionally, his drawings, which call reminiscence of grisailles and thus almost attain a three-dimensional effect are worthwhile mentioning.
Among the numerous honors of Fritz Baumgartner's work are both numerous exhibition all over Europe as well as several awards, among them the Art Prize of the province Turin and the honor medal of the region Piemont.
