Signed, dated and numbered. From an edition of 100 colored, signed and numbered copies for the magazine "Der Sturm". On newsprint, typographically inscribed on the reverse. 22.7 x 25.7 cm (8.9 x 10.1 in). Sheet: 23,8 x 28,2 cm (9.3 x 11,1 in).

• Pechstein - like the other "Brücke" artists - was fascinated by African art: the present hunting scene is based on the depiction of a bronze plate from Benin.
• Rare. To date, only 14 copies of this color woodcut have been offered on the international auction market.
• Further colored copies are at, , among others, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin and the Robert Gore Rifkind Collection, Los Angeles

In good condition. Evenly discolored and with minor defects in the margins of the cut-out newsprint, i.e. a few creases, tears and tiny losses. With faint traces of adhesive tape on the reverse of the upper corners, showing through to recto Upper edge verso firmly mounted on frame backing.
