Lower right signed and dated. On off-white watercolor paper. 25.3 x 34.3 cm (9.9 x 13.5 in), size of sheet. [JS].

• From a series of very atmopsheric small landscape watercolors from the early 1950s in which Dix captured the light and color atmosphere of the seasons on Lake Constance.

PROVENANCE: Private collection Southern Germany (presumably directly from the artist).
Private collection Hesse (from the above in 2009).

LITERATURE: Suse Pfäffle, Otto Dix. Werkverzeichnis der Aquarelle und Gouachen, Stuttgart 1991, no. A 1953/36 (fig.).

In good condition. With slight mount staining. Broad margin with tiny isolated pressure marks and rubbed spots and with discolored old mounting spots in upper corners.
