• From the series "Mennige-Bilder", which Knoebel started in 1975, named after the anticorrosion paint 'Mennige'.
• Knoebel is one of the most radical abstract artists.
• He was invited to several documenta shows (1972, 1977, 1982, 1987).
• Works by Imi Knoebel are in many important museums, among them the Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart, Berlin, the K20/K21 - Kunstsammlung Nordrhein Westfalen and the Albertina, Vienna.
