Posthumous cast by art foundry Noack, Berlin. [SM].

After thorough reserach, Dr. Annette Seeler, Berlin, author of the catalog raisonné of Käthe Kollwitz's sculptures, is convinced that this copy is a regular authorized cast by the art foundry Hermann Noack, Berlin, which was made in the mid/late 1950s.

PROVENANCE: Presumably auction house Friedrich von Artus, Frankfurt (early 1960s).
