Schapire Nachtrag 85. Ketterer edition register 173. Signes and numbered. From an edition of 90 copies. On Japon. 39.7 x 50 cm (15.6 x 19.6 in). Sheet: 52,6 x 67 cm ( x 26,3 in).
In 1964 Schmidt-Rottluff wrote in a letter to Ernst Rathenau, publisher of the catalog raisonné, that he had created the woodcut as early as in 1919, however, without ever printing it. In 1964 the artist recovered the printing block and had it executed by HAP Grieshaber in 1974 for the first time.
Released as sheet 5 in the portfolio "Anno Santo 1975", published by Wolfgang Ketterer, Munich 1975 (with the blindstamp).

All in all slightly discolored. Margins with discernibe handling creases, else in good condition.
